    Residential Lighting

    White/Single Color LED Strips

Selecting the lighting you need in your home can get overwhelming. It involves considering the right color temperature, lumens, fixture type, and more. Simplify this by choosing energy-efficient LEDs. Whether replacing outdated bulbs or installing new fixtures, LED Light Sheets residential products offer reliable performance, powerful light output, no maintenance, and reduced energy costs. Our products come in various styles, CCTs, wattages, lumens, and more, to make shopping easy.

    Key Considerations for Residential Lighting

    Lumen Output

Lumens are the total amount of visible light produced by a bulb or fixture, with a higher lumen rating indicating a more powerful light output.  Lumens are a better measurement of an LED’s brightness than wattage, since LEDs produce more light using less power than traditional bulbs. For example, an 8.5-watt LED bulb delivers the same amount of light as a 60-watt incandescent while consuming a fraction of the energy.

For more information about how wattage and lumens relate to LEDs, check out this blog. How many lumens do you need? Learn more in our blog: Home Lighting Guide: IES Residential Recommended Lighting Levels.

    Dimmability

Dimmable LEDs allow you to adjust the brightness for different scenarios:  decorative, ambiance, and holiday. We carry compatible TRIAC dimmers for residential lighting, including for recessed downlights and flush mount lights. TRIAC dimming alters the brightness by cutting off the incoming AC waveform to reduce the power draw. Non-dimmable LED bulbs and fixtures operate at a fixed brightness and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.

    IP Ratings

Ingress Protection (IP) ratings indicate how well a light fixture or bulb is protected against dust, debris, and moisture. The rating consists of two numbers.  The first digit (0-6) rates the protection against solid objects like dust and debris. The Second digit (0-9) rates the protection against water exposure.

Common IP Ratings for Residential Lighting:

IP20: Standard indoor lighting, minimal protection. Great for bedrooms, living rooms, and other areas where moisture isn’t present.

IP44: Resistant to splashes, suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, food prep areas, or covered outdoor areas.

IP65: Dust-tight and protected against water jets, ideal for outdoor use such as security lighting, flood lights, and wall scones.

IP67: Fully dustproof and can withstand temporary submersion. Great for general landscape lighting.

IP68: Fully waterproof and submersible for extended periods. Ideal for around fountains, pools, and landscaped areas where water can pool.

Choosing the right IP rating ensures durability and safety, especially in wet or dusty environments.
